Privacy Policy

Last Updated: December 10, 2025

Jonathan Bellot Consulting (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose Personal Information when you visit our website (jonathanbellot.com), engage with our advertisements, or use our consulting services. It applies to website visitors, prospective clients, and current or past clients.

This policy is designed to comply with Canadian federal law (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws, and to respect the privacy rights of our clients in the United States.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide our services and improve our business operations. This includes:

  • Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, job title, and company name.

  • Project & Financial Data: During a consulting engagement, you may share business financial records, operational data, and employee organizational charts. While business data is generally not “Personal Information,” any data identifying specific individuals within that data is treated as Personal Information and handled with care.

  • Technical and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and cookies or similar technologies collected automatically when you visit our website.

  • Communication Data: Information you provide through contact forms, email correspondence, or scheduling tools (e.g., Calendly).

We do not intentionally collect sensitive Personal Information (such as health information or government identification numbers). If you believe you have provided such information, please contact us so we can discuss appropriate steps.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your Personal Information for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including:

  • To deliver our consulting services (e.g., The 90‑Day Profit Recovery Sprint).

  • To schedule appointments and discovery calls.

  • To process payments and issue invoices.

  • To communicate with you regarding your inquiries or projects.

  • To operate, maintain, and improve our website, and to analyze the effectiveness of our marketing (e.g., LinkedIn ad performance, website analytics).

We may use aggregated or de‑identified information for reporting and improvement purposes. We do not sell your Personal Information.

We will not use your Personal Information for purposes that are materially different from those described in this policy without informing you and, where required, obtaining your consent.

3. Sharing and Third‑Party Service Providers

We are an independent consultancy and do not share your data with advertisers for their own marketing. However, we use trusted third‑party service providers to support our operations. These providers may have access to your information strictly to perform specific tasks on our behalf, such as:

  • Website Hosting: Wix.com

  • Scheduling: Calendly

  • Email & Storage: Google Workspace (Google LLC)

  • Analytics & Insights: Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insight Tag

Where appropriate, these service providers are subject to contractual obligations to process Personal Information only on our instructions and to implement appropriate security measures. Our service providers may change over time; any material changes to how we share Personal Information will be reflected in this policy.

4. International Data Transfers

Our head office is in Canada, but we operate as a modern, remote‑capable consultancy:

  • Service Providers: Partners like Wix, Google, and Calendly process and store data on servers that may be located in the United States or other jurisdictions.

  • Remote Access: In the course of providing services, we may access your information securely from locations outside of Canada (including the United States or other jurisdictions where we travel or work).

By providing us with your Personal Information, you consent to these international transfers and remote access. These jurisdictions may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction. Regardless of where your information is processed, we apply protective measures such as access controls, multi‑factor authentication, and encryption where appropriate.

You may contact us if you have questions about our use of foreign service providers or cross‑border data practices.

5. Security and Retention

We implement reasonable physical, organizational, and technical safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

  • Retention: We retain client data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. For example, we typically retain financial records for up to seven (7) years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Other project‑related information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for our business relationship and to meet legal, contractual, or operational requirements.

  • Disposal: When Personal Information is no longer needed, we securely delete, anonymize, or otherwise render it unusable.

We maintain internal procedures to respond to potential security incidents. Where required by law, we will notify you and any applicable authorities of breaches that pose a real risk of significant harm.

6. Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, we believe you should have control over your Personal Information.

Subject to limited exceptions under applicable law, you may:

  • Access & Correction: Request access to the Personal Information we hold about you and request corrections if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

  • Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw your consent for us to use your Personal Information, where our processing is based on consent. This may affect our ability to provide certain services.

  • Deletion: Request that we delete your Personal Information where it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected or for legal, tax, or contractual requirements.

To make a request, please contact us using the details in the “Contact Us” section below. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within 30 days, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Additional Information for U.S. / California Residents

While Jonathan Bellot Consulting does not currently meet the statutory thresholds that would make it a “business” subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, we voluntarily endeavor to extend the following rights to our U.S. clients where feasible:

  • The right to request information about the categories of Personal Information we collect and how we use it.

  • The right to request deletion of Personal Information, subject to legal and operational limitations.

  • The right to receive our services without discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

This voluntary extension of rights does not mean that all CCPA/CPRA obligations apply to us, but reflects our commitment to privacy and transparency.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Help the site function properly and securely.

  • Understand how visitors use the site and improve performance (for example, through Google Analytics and LinkedIn Insight Tag).

You can control or reset cookies through your web browser settings and, where available, through cookie banners or preference tools on our website for non‑essential cookies. Please note that disabling certain cookies may impact the functionality or performance of the site.
